Arboriculture Training

THS trainers have extensive experience in the field, are highly qualified, dedicated to providing relevant and site specific training of the highest quality and are committed to workplace safety and training. THS training is closely aligned to all the relevant Codes of Practice and Australian standards. THS is a Registered Training Organisation (91022). THS has a fully equipped training centre facility, including a seminar room and training apparatus. On-site instruction is also available.

THS L1 Tree Access Systems
THS L1 Tree Access Systems Course Individual Booking      $396.00
This course is intended to introduce participants to single rope tree access systems. It is designed for persons who need to climb trees for activities such as flora and fauna inspections, seed collection or habitat installation and arboriculture. The course focuses on the latest techniques in single rope access systems that are both fast and energy efficient. This level one course is suitable for persons with no previous training or experience in height safety activities.
Topics will include the following:
Hazard identification and risk management
Selection, inspection and fitting of equipment
Selection and tying of knots and hitches
Anchor point selection and rope installation
Ascending and descending techniques
Access system selection and assembly
Emergency and rescue planning
Duration: 8 hours over 1 day.
Ratio: 1:4

THS Confined Space Tree Removal Assessment      $396.00
This nationally recognised assessment is titled "Remove trees in confined space". The assessment focuses on dismantling trees in difficult or confined locations.
Persons applying for assessment of current competency in this unit must also be competent in tree climbing, chainsaw operation, tree felling and aerial rescue.
The assessment process can take up to eight hours.

THS Risk Management for Tree Work Module 1
THS Risk Management for Electrical Environment Tree Work      $264.00
This course is designed to teach the participants risk management principles for tree felling and dismantling operations in an electrical environment. The course will have a focus on the hazards associated with tree pruning, dismantling and felling.
Module 1 course structure: Classroom and workshop based theory sessions.
Duration: 8 hours over 1 day.
Recommended refresher: Every twelve months or as required by the regulator.
Instructor to student ratio: Day 1: 1 trainer to 8 participants.
Minimum class size: Four.
Maximum class size: Eight.
